The Visionaries Behind Total Vision

The leadership team at Total Vision is made up of some of the industry’s most talented and experienced professionals.

Neil Collier

Chief Executive Officer

Neil has over 3 decades of operations experience at large-scale, multi-site healthcare businesses. He has successfully driven business growth and has led high-performing field operations and professional service teams, most recently as the chief operating officer of the Center for Vein Restoration, a multi-site practice management business based in Virginia.

One of Neil’s most prominent accomplishments was his prior work as VP of operations at MyEyeDr, which grew from 38 offices to 341 in less than 5 years during his time there. We are excited to leverage his extensive experience in the optometry space, including the successful integration of new optometry practices, increasing year over year store sales, and enhancing team member and patient experience. Neil’s values, work style, and results will match well with the “better together” foundation that has already been established at Total Vision.

In his free time, Neil enjoys golf and snowboarding.

Matt Sanchez

Chief Financial Officer

Matt Sanchez joins Total Vision from NVISION Eye Centers, where he served as Senior Vice President of Finance. In this role, he led financial planning and analysis (FP&A), procurement, real estate, payor contracting, and insurance. Under his leadership, Matt’s team supported more than $400 million in annual revenue across 100 locations.

His strategic accomplishments include spearheading a pricing standardization initiative that generated $5 million in annual revenue and streamlining operations to reduce expenses by $3 million. These achievements underscore his expertise in driving measurable results and operational efficiency—qualities that will have a meaningful impact on Total Vision’s success.

Outside of work, Matt enjoys playing golf and spending quality time with his wife and three kids.

Steve Klein, OD

Chief Medical Officer

Steve Klein is a founding doctor and chief growth officer. Dr. Klein also serves on the board of directors and is involved in a wide range of activities that go with building an organization from the ground up. The passion that he brings to work each day is inspiring to everyone around him. Dr. Klein meets with doctors across Southern California to find the best partners to join the Total Vision team.

After earning his bachelor’s at UCLA and his doctorate at SCCO, Dr. Klein returned to his hometown of San Diego. Over the past 30 years, Dr. Klein has built 3 practices in partnership with his wife, Dr. Kim Plattner. He has also been a speaker, educator, and clinical investigator for many industry-leading companies, including Allergan Pharmaceuticals, Johnson & Johnson, CooperVision, Synergeyes, Bausch & Lomb, and Zeiss. He has lectured on various subjects, including new technologies, diabetes, and dry eye. He also served as principal investigator for the recently launched iLux dry eye device. Dr. Klein served as president of the Lions Optometric Vision Clinic, treasurer/secretary of the California Vision Foundation, and was a 4-year board member for the San Diego County Optometric Society. Dr. Klein enjoys many outdoor activities in his free time, including biking, stand-up paddleboarding, surfing, and skiing. He loves spending time with his wife and 2 children.

With many innovative ideas and an ability to enthusiastically engage others, Dr. Klein has become a respected thought leader in the eyecare field. His vision of bringing together forward-thinking doctors to thrive in this rapidly changing eyecare arena/world was the genesis of the Total Vision platform/network.

Brooke Jakovich

Senior Vice President, Operations

Brooke Jakovich is the senior vice president of operations, the first team member to join the organization to carry out the doctor-driven vision for this optometry company. She leads each practice with compassion and intensity in all operational, sales, training, strategy, team member engagement, and acquisition integration aspects by partnering with their successful doctor partners.

Her professional career started and grew at NVISION Eye Centers, a doctor-owned ophthalmology group. He began as one of the organization’s star outside sales representatives, then continuing with 8 additional roles in just over 10 years. She has managed the organization’s largest practice and flagship location in Newport Beach, California, and launched NVISION’s cataract service line in 2012, growing the revenue from less than 1% of total production to over 26% of the organization’s top-line revenue in just under 2 years. Additionally, she was a key contributor to NVISION’s expansion, successfully acquiring and integrating locations to grow the organization and produce the same store growth results, a key element to Total Vision’s expansion strategy.

Brooke received a Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Fullerton, graduating summa cum laude, while leading her Division I Softball team all 4 years. She loves cooking, trying new restaurants, traveling, and spending time with her husband and 2 sons.

Leslie Polley

Director of Marketing

Serving as Director of Marketing, Leslie is responsible for driving traffic and enhancing patient acquisition and retention for Total Vision. Leslie has extensive experience building and executing marketing strategies for each channel including Search Engine Optimization, social media, and email. She has over fifteen years’ experience leading the marketing function in both the homebuilding and dental industries.

Leslie is primarily focused on developing a single cohesive brand identity that all practices can easily adhere to. She ensures the Total Vision experience shines through at every opportunity – be it through our practice websites, biweekly email newsletters, blog entries, or any other type of communication.

In her prior roles, she was instrumental in increasing patient volume, expanding brand awareness, and lead generation & conversion. Leslie received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Chapman University and earned her Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Concordia University. In her free time, she enjoys water sports, motorcycle riding with her husband and two sons, and fishing in the High Sierras.

Zachary Marzaloes

Director of Operations

With over a decade of experience in executive-level management within the retail medical sector, our Director of Operations, Zachary Marzaloes, brings a robust background in strategic leadership and operational excellence. Having overseen more than 45 mergers and acquisitions and spearheaded the implementation of over 40 remote eye exam locations, he possesses unparalleled expertise in scaling businesses effectively. With financial stewardship of annual revenues exceeding $50 million and managing a payroll of $15 million for over 300 employees, his track record includes a consistent 15% year-over-year KPI growth in practices operating for over five years.

Zachary’s leadership has been instrumental in developing top-performing teams, as evidenced by his proven success in onboarding and training leaders across multiple markets. Throughout Zachary’s career, he has showcased his ability to manage and support large teams by focusing on cost control and operational efficiency. His prior roles honed his skills in client service, team development, and business performance optimization. Zachary’s dedication to innovation and excellence, including creating impactful training programs, underscores his commitment to fostering growth and leading Total Vision to new heights.

James Davenport

IT Director

James Davenport has an extensive IT background spanning more than 20 years. As a leader in the IT industry, he is pioneering 21st-century solutions to modernize the eye care industry. Regulations such as HIPAA, PCI, and ICD-10 have changed the way patient healthcare data is protected. He has developed innovative solutions including incident response plans, ISO 27001 assessments, and maintaining security and audit compliance. As the IT Director of one of the fastest-growing eye care companies in the country, he has worked to create a plan for 24X7 SOC monitoring of critical infrastructure components. Mr. Davenport currently holds the Certified Chief Information Security Officer certification from EC Council.

Patrick Griffin, OD

Clinical Director

As Clinical Director for Total Vision, Dr. Patrick Griffin leads the clinical operations, ensuring exceptional patient care across the organization. He monitors the performance of optometrists and clinical staff, making certain that treatments and procedures adhere to the highest professional and regulatory standards. Dr. Griffin collaborates closely with the Leadership Team on strategic initiatives, business development, and the introduction of new services to continuously elevate patient care.

In addition to his role as Clinical Director, Dr. Griffin sees patients two days a week at Griffin Optometry – Talega, now part of Total Vision. Dr Griffin joined Griffin Optometric Group in 1989 (est. by Dr Ted P Griffin, Dr Patrick’s father, in 1957). Dr. Griffin completed his undergraduate studies at Loyola Marymount University before earning his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee.

Dr. Griffin completed two externship programs; first in an ocular pathology clinic in New Orleans specializing in refractive surgery and ocular disease, then in a private practice in New York City specializing in advanced contact lens fitting.

He is a charter member of the San Clemente Sunrise Rotary Club, serving as president from 1997-1998. Dr Griffin is an Emeritus Board Member of the Casa Romantica Cultural Center and Gardens in San Clemente, having actively served on their board for 16 years. He is a past board member of Family Assistance Ministries and continues to be actively involved in Build a Miracle in Tijuana Mexico. Dr. Patrick and his wife Mimi enjoyed raising their 25-year-old twin daughters and have happily adapted to their “empty nest”.

Betsy Webb

Director of Human Resources

Betsy Webb, our Director of Human Resources, comes to Total Vision with a vast experience of over 20 years of experience in human resources. Her expertise is in directing the development and implementation of human resources policies, programs, and services, including benefits, compensation, employee relations, legal compliance, organizational development, performance management, talent acquisition, and training. She also has various experiences with mergers and acquisitions as well as several IPOs.

Betsy’s approachable personality allows her to work with all levels of an organization with ease, resulting in healthy and productive corporate cultures that positively impact the bottom line. She has a diverse background working in highly regulated industries with Fortune 500 companies as well as start-up businesses including senior leadership roles in ticketing, energy & construction, and battery research sectors.

Betsy earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from California State University, Long Beach, and also holds a Master of Science degree in Human Resources from Chapman University. When she has free time, she enjoys reading, movies, and hiking.
